All those who are deep sea fishing in Alabama knows the red snapper in the Gulf. Orange Beach has long been known as "Red Snapper" Capital of the world. For over 25 years, they were mainly for charter boats and recreational fishermen. The problem is the project of Red Snapper season for 2009 has not yet been announced. Depending on when you want to go fishing, or Back Bay inshore species like redfish, speckled trout, Sheep, Flounder, White Trout, Croakers, Pompano Catfish and salt water are generally available in spring, summer and fall. Some fish are more abundant than others and are available all year. You need to visit a tackle shop or guide to the coast to see what bites. Some good shops address in Orange Beach are Mo's Bait & Tackle, Top Gun Tackle, J & M Tackle and Sam's. They all have a good pulse on what is biting and may suggest bait, tackle inshore fishing charters you can use.

The typical species caught on fishing off Coral Day TRIPS are red snapper, Lutjanus, porgy, Vermilion Snapper, triggerfish, Ruby Lips, Shark, Cobia, Bonita, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bull Redfish, Wahoo, Jack Crevalle, amberjack, Almaco Jacks, Mahi-Mahi, Shark and Barracuda Suckers. These species can be caught throughout the year but the best fishing is from April to October. Some can be caught while trolling or sight fishing. Most are caught while fishing reef. Some species such as Bull redfish are available during the winter months from November to March. Cobia migration occurs during late March and all the way to April.

Overnight oil wells usually produce fish migratory game like yellowfin and blackfin tuna. They can also produce blue or white marlin. Rainbow Runners and Dorado, mahi-mahi are also available at sea and can be found Lines rip further. Our oil platforms closer than tuna produce at least 60 miles offshore. It takes a fast boat in a calm sea or a voyage charter night to get there and get into position for a chance to catch them.
